The Galveston Bookshop is located at 317 23rd Street a couple of blocks from The Strand.
The Barnes & Noble bookstore in the Champions Village Shopping Center at 5303 FM 1960 in Houston will hold a book-signing for Bartee’s new book Unforgettable Texans on Saturday, October 14. Starting at noon, Bartee will be there in person to autograph your book and answer any questions you might have about his books, newspaper column and Texas history in general.
In late July 2017, The History Press published Unforgettable Texans, Bartee’s fourth book for the Charleston-based publishing house. This collection of forty biographies illustrated with rare photographs sheds much-deserved light on once famous but now forgotten figures from the Lone Star past.

Both the “Houston Press” and “Houstonia Magazine” interviewed Bartee in the past month or so about his latest book Texas Boomtowns: A History of Blood and Oil. Click on the links below and read what he had to say for yourself.
“New Book Spills Salacious Tales of Drugs, Hookers and Wildcatting” in the Houston Press
“There Will Be Blood (and Oil)” in Houstonia Magazine.
Oil famously brought prosperity to Texas but it also gave rise to violence, brothels, bordellos, and slums. Texas Boomtowns: A History of Blood and Oil explores the folks who took high-risk jobs in the fields and the volatile communities they formed. This exciting new book releases November 30th. Of course, BarteeHaile.com is the only place you can pre-order a copy signed and dated by the author himself!
